Although it’s pleasing to bask in the fine and white sand and pamper yourself with the all-inclusive package, you can’t call it a journey without the discovery part. Viva Wyndham Dominicus Beach’s surroundings are worth exploring; three new experiences have recently been introduced.
The ECO BIKE EXCURSION provides you with high-quality electric bikes to go to Bayahibe Village and to Cueva de Padre Nuestro along with professional instructors coordinated by the national athlete José Cabral. The guide will show diverse animal and plant species of the region and the park; before going back, you can take a refreshing bath in Padre Nuestro’s fresh waters.
Padre Nuestro belongs to the Cotubanamá National Park and is the subject of a sustainable touristic project with the community, which involves visiting the botanical garden and the caves with their rock art. These caves are interesting for cave diving but also for just taking a bath; they are similar to Mexican cenotes. These caves are beautiful examples of rock art; you can admire the paintings, while the recovered pre-Hispanic findings were taken to the capital in the Museum del Hombre Dominicano.
The VIVA SAFARI EXCURSION takes place on board the new Safari truck, along with an expert guide. The first stop will be at Padre Nuestro Village, in a school supported by our hotel chain and at Cuseco Art Foundation, where women create handcrafts using natural products.
The excursion continues towards the sugarcane plantations, where you will witness the reaping and harvesting process, until tasting. Then, in the city of Higüey, you will visit the tobacco factory, the Basilica devoted to Virgin Mary and the central market.
The following stop will be at El Seibo, a ranch located in the central cordillera, where you will visit coffee and cocoa plantations and you will enjoy a typical Dominican lunch.
In the afternoon you will relax at Playa Macao, enjoying a bath in the Atlantic Ocean’s waters.
The SEA TREK EXCURSION is organized by Viva Diving and represents the simplest approach to underwater world. From Viva Wyndham Dominicus Beach and Palace’s dock you will dive equipped with a special helmet covering head and neck which will allow you to breathe in a completely natural way. You will walk under water for thirty minutes, taking a close look at Caribbean nature and at the reef in front of the hotel.
