Cabarete, on the northern coast of the Dominican Republic, is one of the top places in the world for kite lovers. Every year in February the Master of the Ocean takes place with the best international athletes participating in this event. In July, athletes compete in sea and wind disciplines on the occasion of the Cabarete Classic.
Nevertheless, this locality and its endless beaches are not to be considered only to practice or admire the maneuvers of acrobatic sports. The Viva Wyndham Tangerine stands here and is considered an excellent 4-starred hotel, after its renovation three years ago.
It is halfway between Playa Encuentro, where the competitions take place, and Playa Cabarete where the annual jazz festival happens in the month of November. The atmosphere is lively and every evening people meet for happy hour and for drinks on the beach: bars and kiosks set up a lounge atmosphere with lights and comfortable seats for those who wish to sip mojitos or a Dominican Presidente beer.
Viva Wyndham Tangerine offers a very rich gastronomic offer. La Bahia is the main restaurant, with a buffet menu for breakfast, lunch and dinner. La Vela is a snack bar during the day, but in the evening, it becomes an à la carte Italian restaurant. Viva Mexico is open every evening from 6 to 11 to offer a taste of the specialties of Mexican cuisine; the service is excellent, and food presentation is very accurate.
Melt is the new a la carte restaurant serving a variety of fusion dishes in a very characteristic setting; design decors colored in all the shades of green and beige accompany fanciful dinners: tuna carpaccio marinated with lime and ginger, chicken in champagne sauce, marlin in walnut crust on orange salad, grapefruit and mint, sea bass with cream of pumpkin puree and artichokes sautéed with pesto sauce.
