The artistic exhibition “La Chiva Gloria” made a stop on its cultural route at the hotels Viva Wyndham Dominicus Beach and Viva Wyndham Dominicus Palace in Bayahibe, La Romana, to celebrate our 30th anniversary.

The exhibition is integrated by nine sculptures made of fiberglass created by twelve plastic artists. All the pieces depict part of Dominicans daily life through actions that incorporate art as part of the integral development of the community.

Ettore Colussi, President of Viva Resorts, said the exhibition was intended to offer a direct contact with the Dominican identity and cultural wealth to hundreds of foreign tourists at Viva Wyndham Dominicus Beach and Palace hotels. He added that during the exhibition were held some workshops and talks with the participating artists.

The project “La Chiva Gloria” is an initiative of the Arawak Art Foundation and the plastic arts master Antonio Guadalupe. Its fundamental purpose is bringing art to the public, promoting Dominican culture and values, as well as encouraging cultural tourism and patronage. Also, the idea is to promote art education and creativity as tools to achieve social transformation.
