RIVIERA MAYA: A legendary edition of the Jazz Festival

How about spending three nights listening to the best international jazz on a Caribbean beach for free?

Get rady for the Riviera Maya Jazz Festival, scheduled to take place this year from November 29 to December 1.

The concerts will start at 7 pm and will continue until midnight on the beach at Mamita’s Beach, located in Playa del Carmen.

The music begins at sunset, an exquisite companion for the starters and appetizers, while the most popular artists wil be presented from 10:30 p.m. The program includes:

Friday, November 29 :

Sr. Mandril, Mexican group that fuses jazz, funk and rock sounds;

Magos Herrera, female Latin jazz interpreter, composer and producer;

The great Chucho Valdés, pianist, composer and arranger, one of the great Cuban jazz masters.

Saturday, November 30:

Natalia Marrokin, young Mexican singer and songwriter with soul, R&B and pop influences;

Eliane Elias, Brazilian pianist, composer and singer, recepient of various Grammy awards. She occupied first place on the Billboard Jazz Chart last year and her latest album earned her first place on the iTunes Jazz Charts;

Trombone Shorty, American trombonist and trompetist, whose real name is Troy Michael Andrews. His music encompasses from jazz to funk, from hip hop to rock. He began playing when he was six years old. Trombone Shorty performs alongside his group, Orleans Avenue.

Sunday, December 1:

New York Voices, jazz vocal ensemble;

PBug, originally from the United Kingdom, their energy-rich funk has opened concerts for many popular artists, such as Bruno Mars, Daft Punk and Mark Ronson;

And, the list continues with none less than UB40, the iconic British group that gave rise to reggae, selling 70 million records since 1977. They need no introduction, we all remember them for their famous hit “Red Red Wine”. Viva Wyndham Maya and Viva Wyndham Azteca are located in Playacar, just a few minutes away from Playa del Carmen and this one-in-a-kind music torrent.
