The event is looking to start the conversation about the environmental situation of Samaná Bay and to reflect about the waste and its impact in the coast surroundings on Saturday January 26th in Samaná.

Master of the Ocean

Master of the Ocean is a unique extreme championship for true water sports athletes, where they have to showcase their skills and battle over wind and waves, in the disciplines of surfing, windsurfing, kitesurfing and SUP. All in the amazing Caribbean setting that is Cabarete, on the north shore of the Dominican Republic.

Whale Watching Season

Watch the 1,500 to 2,000 whales that migrate to the waters of the Samaná Bay on a guided boat tour or from the land at the observatory in Punta Balandra. The official whale-watching season runs from mid-January to March, but tours are available as long as whales are in the bay.

17th Caribbean Laser Regatta

It marks the beginning of the world calendar of Laser Sailboat Regattas, and attracts the best sailors of the world. To be held from January 18th – 20th, 2019 in Cabarete, world capital of wind sports. This event is sponsored by the Laser Training Center with the help of the Dominican Sailing Federation.

Punta Cana Carnival

Every year for the last 11 years, Grupo Punta Cana celebrates the “Carnaval de Punta Cana”. On 2019, for the first time, the parade will be extended to a two-day celebration on February 8th and 9th at the Punta Cana Village. The celebration begins with a parade of international delegations from Aruba, Curacao, Haiti and Saint Martin, as well as a selection of the very best from the Dominican Republic.

Dominican Rum Festival 2019

The attendees of the Dominican Rum Festival will be able to enjoy a great exhibition and tastings of fine Rums from the Dominican Republic and international brands. Different events will also be offered, such as concerts, tastings, seminars, lectures, workshops, cocktail contests and gastronomic tastings, among other attractions, on July 19th & 20th at the Puerto Plata Amphitheater.

This event is celebrated the entire month of February throughout the country of Dominican Republic filling each weekend with parades, events and competitions. Each town offers their own twist to the event. The celebration climaxes on or near the 27th of February, Dominican Independence Day.

Junkanoo Festival

Junkanoo is the National Festival of the Bahamas; it represents our roots and it is our heritage. Originating during the days of slavery when the slaves were given time off to celebrate the holidays with African dance, music and costume. Conchman Triathlon

The Conchman provided an activity where Grand Bahama residents and visitors could come together to compete, build and maintain a healthy, physical and mental body. And to raise funds for Grand Bahama Rotary Club projects, BASRA and Freeport Aquatics Club,” says Mr. Gouthro. At the time, Mr. Gouthro says the proceeds of the event also went to the Polio Plus Organisation, which was, and still is, dedicated to eradicating polio in the world.
