Viva Wyndham Tangerine hotel is the tournament sponsor and host resort for the event. Locally, the event is being promoted as Viva Resorts Regatta. It marks the beginning of the calendar of Laser Sailboat Regattas in the Northern Hemisphere, and attracts the best sailors of the world to Cabarete, world capital of wind sport. It’s the only annual regatta recognized in the Caribbean for points on the World Sailing organization ranking. More than 30 participants will compete in the one-person Laser class, with teams coming from Argentina, the Netherlands, United States, Canada, Germany, Australia and the Dominican Republic.
The event is looking to start the conversation about the environmental situation of Samaná Bay and to reflect about the waste and its impact in the coast surroundings on Saturday February 1st in Samaná.

This event is celebrated the entire month of February throughout the country of Dominican Republic filling each weekend with parades, events and competitions. Each town offers their own twist to the event. The celebration climaxes on or near the 27th of February, Dominican Independence Day.
Master of the Ocean is a unique extreme championship for true water sports athletes, where they have to showcase their skills and battle over wind and waves, in the disciplines of surfing, windsurfing, kitesurfing and SUP. All in the amazing Caribbean setting that is Cabarete, on the north shore of the Dominican Republic.

Watch the 1,500 to 2,000 whales that migrate to the waters of the Samaná Bay on a guided boat tour or from the land at the observatory in Punta Balandra. The official whale-watching season runs from mid-January to March, but tours are available as long as whales are in the bay.

Pelican Point’s Homecoming Festival held annually on Easter Monday. Come out and experience coconut in more ways than you can count! The art of the coconut will be displayed in items including but not be limited to, coconut jimmy, coconut tart, jams and preserves and the Bahamian specialty, Gully Wash! Bahamian arts and crafts and coconut jewelry will also be available.
This is an annual event held in the month of August by the Ministry of Tourism, it's main focus is to promote and showcase everything Bahamian inclusive of our music, the delicious down home dishes, the bush teas, fashion display and the authentic Bahamian arts & crafts.
This annual homecoming event began in 1972 and attracts both domestic and international visitors, who enthusiastically vie for the coveted and authentically Bahamian designed conch trophy, awarded to the best Conch Cracker in the country. The festival features lots of conch-themed dishes, other food and drinks, locally made souvenirs, as well as a full day of activities that both adults and children can participate in, competitions and exciting live entertainment.
